a look at Arianna Perez from ‘Keep You Safe’ in the #DownandDirty #anthology #ScavengerHunt @romancerebels69

Today we have Arianna Perez from the story Keep You Safe in the Down and Dirty anthology visiting. Welcome!

Arianna, what would you like to tell readers about yourself?
* I’m an Art Professor in Las Vegas, Nevada. Parents and grandmother live in a different state. If I’m not teaching, I’m working on my own art projects in my in-home studio. I hadn’t been dating much since I’d ended a long term relationship, but as you’ll read in my story, that changes.

So, you came out of a long term relationship? Was that recent? Could you tell us a bit about it?
* I was in a multi-year relationship with a man who looked totally perfect on paper and who I thought I’d be with for always. But then, things went south. He became abusive. I didn’t want to put up with it, so we split several months ago. There are days he acts like I’m still with him. Luckily those aren’t too many. Unfortuneately though, I’ve put up walls and now am cautious about a new relationship.

Yes, the new one. Could you tell us about it and the guy?
* His name is Kian. Cool name, right? He’s a wrangler, or as some may say–cowboy, at a ranch outside of the city. Handsome fellow. I actually knew him years ago, but a move to a different state made us lose touch. I didn’t really want to get involved, but he wore me down with his charm.

That is a cool name. Tell us, if you were taken out of the story and placed into your author’s world, what would be the first thing you’d do?
* Give the author some advice, tips, and tricks for her own artwork and then take her painting somewhere.

What was the best sexual experience you’ve had?
* You’ll have to read the story. 😉 Kian and I sure created some magic… and art… that night.

Where do you see yourself in the future? What do you hope to accomplish?
* I see myself with the love of my life, a family, my art in museums, and people calling me, “Brilliant, a modern master artist.”

If you could time travel and/or live anywhere in the world, to when would you go and/or to where would you go?
* Time travel would be awesome. I could go meet the masters of the past, hopefully watch them create their works, and learn all that I could from them.

That sounds like it would be super interesting to do! Well, thank you, Arianna, for stopping in today and telling us a little about yourself.

A look into…

~ Blurb ~

* I’m Professor Arianna Perez, and I’ve been asked if I’ll ever trust, let alone love, another man again. After dumping an abusive boyfriend, I doubted I would. At least, that’s how I felt until fate had sexy wrangler, Kian Bishop, reappearing in my life in a way I never expected.
* Against my better judgement, I fell hard for the cowboy, believing everything he said, including how he wanted to treat me like a queen and keep me safe. Little did I know, though, that the circumstances that’d brought us together could also tear us apart…and possibly claim my life.

a look at ‘A Far Cry from Home’ by Peri Elizabeth Scott #Contemporary #EroticEomance @evernightpub

Regan Ferguson knows little past running The Inn, her home
since her adoption. Again orphaned, she’s dealt another blow. Her father never
repaid a loan, the recipient being Maddox Ferguson, her newfound, sexy cousin.
Intrigued by the woman he never knew existed, Maddox is awed
by her tenacity and determination to continue with The Inn. He makes her a loan
to give her the opportunity to learn for herself how impossible the task,
rather than personally destroying any chance to explore the connection between
them. However, he quietly lines up potential buyers as a fallback plan.
Regan eventually has that epiphany, only to accidentally
determine Maddox’s plan. Feeling betrayed and confused, she secretly signs the
buyout and hits the road with her cat, Oscar.
Maddox follows, and without The Inn between them they find
their happily ever after—Regan learns that home is wherever her heart is.
Excerpt:
She stuck out her hand, and he fancied she saw it as an olive branch. The hostility she’d initially projected was gone, and he took the opportunity to encroach into her space. Clasping her small, work-roughened hand in his much larger one, a frisson of energy sparked between them and he felt her quiver.

Fascinated, he watched as she strove to regain her composure, while he allowed his desire to show. Staring into her eyes, the pale-blue of her irises consumed by the dilation of her pupils, he read her need. He tugged her to his chest, the clean smell of soap and water, and something uniquely Regan, wafting from her.

Her head tipped back and he dropped his mouth down on hers, the immediate connection hardening his flesh to the point of pain. She relaxed into his hold and he tasted her with desperate intent. His fingers wove through the silky mass of her hair, holding her steady, and she moaned deep in her throat. She pressed closer, her arms wreathing around his neck.

He somehow brought it to a close, over long before he wanted it to be, but his conscience pricked hard. He’d promised her the time and money to bring The Inn up to snuff, somehow unable to resist. And now he’d honor his commitment, intuiting the importance of this woman determining her own destiny. Not a fling, not like with his other women.

His libido jeered and prodded at him but knew to allow nature to take its course. Wherever this connection with Regan was going, he wouldn’t hurry nor derail it.

As they both caught their breath, he gently set her away from him, his hands on her lithe waist, until she steadied on her stool. “I normally don’t seal business deals with a kiss,” he said, aware his tone held a certain rasp. Clearing his throat, he continued, “It’s been a … momentous day.”

Her slender throat working in a swallow, she said, “I’ve never sealed a business deal before.”

He knew she wasn’t experienced and doubted she kissed every man she’d just met with fervor and without meaning anything by it. Aching for her, he clamped down on his physical need and did his best to appear suave and unruffled. “We have a deal, Regan. I’ll bring my things in and get settled while you get organized. You’ll need a material list, among other things.”

Visibly drawing her composure around her like flexible armor, she slipped from the stool and turned her back on him, clearing away the dishes on the island. “Sounds good. I’ll just tidy up and then sit down with pen and paper. Lists are good.”

Holding hard on to his own equanimity, he nodded and headed out for his car. Some fresh air would clear his head and cool him down.

Today we have author Beth D. Carter visiting. Welcome!

What would you like to tell readers about yourself?

* I like writing about the very ordinary girl thrust into extraordinary circumstances, so my heroines will probably never be lawyers, doctors or corporate high-rollers. I try to write characters who aren’t cookie cutters and push myself to write complicated situations that I have no idea how to resolve, forcing me to think outside the box. I love writing characters who are real, complex and full of flaws, heroes and heroines who find redemption through love.

A look into…

~ Interview ~

* Thank you so much for hosting me today! In A Chord is a re-release, previously published through another publishing house. I was unsatisfied with the story because a writer’s craft constantly grows and gets better with every manuscript written. Plus, I really hated the cover. In this business, you really are judged by the cover so with those two things in mind, I decided to take back the rights, rework the plot a little and lucky for me, Evernight said yes.
What inspired you to begin writing In A Chord? What trivial events could you explain behind writing your story?
* Music is a big inspiration to me and I wanted to write something set in that genre. In my younger days, I used to go dancing a lot, and the best clubs were always pounding out the base. I discovered the better the beat, the sexier the feeling. Swaying hips, rushing excitement. It is definitely a very seductive atmosphere. When I dreamt up these characters, I wanted to bring that rush into the story.
Tell us about the characters.
* The title is actually a play on words…a chord is three notes (or more) in harmony. I started out with the two men, Ash and Keaton, two men into heavy metal. Head bangers in their teenage years, starting a band up in the parent’s garage. I needed a female who understood both, because each has their own personality. This is where the band, Skillet, comes into the picture. One song, “Awake and Alive”, has a female voice and a fiddle, and that just made Momo come to life.
Was there as specific part of the story that you absolutely loved writing as well as not enjoyed writing?
* To make the characters more human, I wrote a scene where one of the men is coming out of the bathroom, warning Momo not to go in for a bit. I found it really funny.
* There wasn’t much in this book I didn’t enjoy writing. I’m a very liner type of writer, meaning I don’t really jump around scenes too much. I start at point A and finish at point Z. So, sometimes just writing the in between stuff, the ordinary day to day, can be tedious because your job is to still make that monotony interesting.
What other projects are you working on at the moment?
* Currently, I am working on a book where a woman finds out that her marriage certificate was never filed, making her not really married. This happened to friends of mine and I always wondered what would’ve happened if they’d not found out.
* I have the follow up to my book Take Aim & Reload (Forgotten Rebels MC #4) in the works.
* One of my publishers went out of business and I have the rights back to some of my books, so I’ll be working on those as well, making them better and resubmitting them to Evernight. (Fingers crossed)
* Whatever I write, it’ll have erotica romance themes through it.

~ Blurb ~

* Keaton Gates and Ashland Lance are lovers and musicians in a band called Endymion. Keaton believes there is something missing, not only from the sound of their music, but also in their lives. When he hears Momo Willows singing Endymion’s signature song, he knows she’s the muse he’s been waiting for.
* At first, Ash Lance is jealous of the new girl in Keaton’s life until he meets her. Momo is unlike anyone he’s ever met and they soon discover that they connect on many levels. But he’s reluctant to take her away from Keaton just as Momo refuses to come between them.
* Keaton is quick to assure them he wants all three of them to learn to be in a ménage relationship, but as they learn how to live and love together, another threat is moving between them, threatening to take Momo away….forever.
This is a previously published work. It has been revised and edited for Evernight Publishing.

* “Keaton, Momo and I…we, um, kissed.”
* He saw Keaton shoot a look at Momo, then down at her hand on his knee, then back to Ash. “What?”
* “Keaton,” Momo murmured, shame shining on her face. “It just happened and I’m so sorry. There’s something tangible between he and I, just like I felt toward you, and that’s why I don’t think I can be with you—”
* “She knows about us,” Ash interrupted her, picking up her hand. He saw Keaton’s gaze follow the gesture. “She doesn’t want to get between us.”
* “What?” Keaton said again, his tone going a bit deeper.
* “She figured it out but it felt right to tell her.” He ran an agitated hand through his hair. Momo took her hand back and placed it in her lap. “Keaton, man, I don’t know what to say.”
* He sat silent for a moment, obviously thinking things over. “Is that why you tried to bail earlier?”
* She nodded.
* “Is that all you did? Just kiss?”
* “Yeah. That’s it, I swear. I mean, I wanted to do more, but I know she’s your girl—”
* “Ash, it’s okay.”
* Ash waited because he knew something more had to be coming. If Keaton were to tell him to stand and take a punch, he would be jumping up and bracing himself.
* “No, Ash, it’s really okay,” Keaton assured him.
* Ash saw the surprise he felt mirrored on Momo’s face. Keaton just smiled at them.
* “For a while I knew that something was missing in our lives,” Keaton continued. “Not between you and me because I love you, you know, but I knew there was something out of place. I just didn’t know what, and then, when I heard Momo sing, when I talked to her and heard her passion for our music, it all kind of clicked.”
* “What clicked?”
* “That missing element in our music, in our lives, was her.”
