Today we have author Lynn Kellan visiting. Welcome!

* Lynn Kellan writes contemporary romance about strong men who have a weakness for smart women. She believes men and women aren’t that different, because everyone wants to be with someone who will empty the dishwasher. To prepare for her career as a romance author, she fell in love with bad boys, burly athletes, battle-hardened Marines…and married a chemist. Lynn has won numerous writing contests and served two terms as President of her local Romance Writers of America chapter, but she feels a true sense of accomplishment whenever she doesn’t embarrass her teenaged kids.
* For love. For funny. For ever.

Today Lynn Kellan will be talking about a day in her life.
* In the mornings, I catch up on social media and focus on the business/marketing side of writing romance for a few hours. Once I’m caught up on my to-do list, I head to the basement, get on the treadmill, and write while I walk. Rather than buy an expensive treadmill desk, I placed an extra piece of shelving across the handles of my treadmill that serves as my “desk.” It holds my keyboard, a mouse, and any paperwork I need. My old Mac computer sits on top of an old filing cabinet at eye level, and voila! My self-made treadmill desk.
* When I first tried to walk and write at the same time, I started out at a very slow walking tempo. I only needed a couple days before I was able to walk at a decent clip while I edited or wrote new material. Walking while writing (or writing while walking) has been so good for me. I’m often able to put in at least 5 miles on the treadmill while I’m writing, so I’m exercising and working at the same time.
* I’ve fallen off once (I blame the dog). Believe me, the fall wasn’t a bad one.
* I can write for about three hours before I need a break. I’ll stop for lunch, check my email, and then run a few errands. Afterwards, I’ll resume writing until my family comes home for dinner. I’m the chef in the family, so I cook for everyone. After the meal, my husband and I will often try to play a few holes of golf if it’s sunny and warm outside. My kids are old enough to drive, so they often have stuff to do in the evenings. Sometimes, the kids ask us to play tennis with them. There are a lot of local courts nearby, so we can usually find a spot to play doubles.
* In the winter, we tend to do more work in the evenings because it’s too cold and dark to be outside. There are some days when I’m able to write for 10 hours, but I have to be careful about long days. If I work too long for too many days, I lose steam and need a break. Sometimes, spending a day or two away from my computer regenerates me. For that reason, I tend to avoid working on weekends. A writer needs to live life in order to write about it, right?

* She avoids men like him. He needs a woman like her. One lie changes everything…
* Gabriel Antonov is a mechanic who can fix anything, even a woman’s hesitance. His talents have earned him the well-deserved reputation as a player, but when a routine one-night stand goes wrong, he’s haunted by what he’s done. Nothing can free him from those depraved memories, until he meets Leigh Nelson.
* Leigh avoids strong, silent types like Gabe, who is stronger and quieter than most guys. The only man she’s focused on is her father, who is suffering from a devastating health crisis. She’ll do anything to help him, even at the cost of ignoring her own well-being, but the stress is getting to her. Gabe’s strength is tough to resist, and his silence might be hiding a crushing secret only she can understand.
* He can’t outrun his gut-deep craving for her. Problem is, she’s running from him. When they’re marooned in his lakeside cabin, he might finally catch her…if he can admit why he’s falling apart without her.
* RUN TO HER is on sale for $2.99

~ Excerpt ~

* A fat raindrop splattered on the porch screen. And another. Tiny fragments of water landed on Leigh’s shoulder like little kisses. A shiver trickled across her back, forcing her to step toward the center of the porch to avoid getting wet.
* The carefree humor fled from his expression. His gaze dropped to the tips of her toes and slowly rose up her legs, her body, her face. Gabe locked eyes with her, reached out, and opened his hand.
* An invitation.
* She gazed at his broad palm and dark memories rose, fueled by a violent incident that flashed through her mind whenever a big man got close…but this man was different. Gabe used his considerable strength to protect, not dominate. Months ago, he’d pulled off the Interstate to help her when no one else had. After that, he’d showed up to run with her when no one else would. And a few minutes ago, he’d tamed his powerful Harley so she’d enjoy the ride when no one else seemed to care if she had any fun. Even tiny things like ladybugs received his special brand of kindness.
* She had no reason to believe Gabe would willfully hurt her. Even so, her heart tripped at the sight of the thick rope of muscle along his arm.

Welcome Anni Fife w/ #RomanticSuspense ‘Luke’s Redemption’ @AnniFifeAuthor @GoddessFish

Today we have author Anni Fife visiting. Welcome!

What would you like to tell readers about yourself?
mediakit_authorphoto_lukesredemption

* Last year, Anni Fife closed the door on a twenty-year successful career in television production, to fulfill her lifelong passion, writing. In the space of one month, she closed her business, packed up her city life and moved to a small seaside village. ‘My writing has always been constrained by client briefs,’ Anni says. ‘Now, I finally have the opportunity to write to the beat of my own heart.’ LUKE’s Redemption is Anni’s debut novel and she hopes you enjoy it as much as she loved writing it. Anni loves to spend hours walking on the beach searching for pansy shells, more hours drinking red wine with her gal posse, and the most hours writing romance novels filled with women you can relate to and men you love to dream about. She is currently working on her second novel, GRAY’s Promise.
* Anni is published by The Wild Rose Press.

Today Anni Fife has answered the question: What is the best piece of writing advice you ever received and how did it help you?
* There is a lot of advice that is freely offered by best-selling authors and various other entities. But one particular piece of advice is repeated extensively by near everybody—as soon as you finish writing your book, start writing the next book!
* I’m a total believer in this philosophy. I’m lucky enough to have an excellent publisher—The Wild Rose Press—but even so, as a new author I have to do all of the marketing and publicity on my own. This takes up a chunk of time. You have to be careful to prioritize your writing as the social media & publicity demands can take over. But I’ve learned quickly that NOTHING grows your readership as much as releasing another book. If a reader reads your book and likes it, what is the first thing they are going to do? Right! Look up what other books you have written. So you need to get writing.
* I tried hard to follow this advice last year but as I am a debut author, I spent a lot of time building momentum for my brand, and when I finally released Luke’s Redemption, I appeared on over sixty blogs during the release period. It was as exhilarating as it was exhausting, because all my time was spent writing content for guest posts and then pushing social media to maximize reach for the blogs I appeared on. And then we had a family emergency. So finishing my book ended up at the end of the queue. Not good! Because any fans I’ve managed to secure are waiting for my next book…so I need to get on and deliver.
* But I am delighted to report that I’m now in the final chapters of Gray’s Promise, book two in my King Security Series. (Luke’s Redemption is Book One.) It’s set in New York and Denton, Texas. Grayson Walker is Luke’s best friend, and he’s a wicked charmer. Zoey Morgan is his one-and-only. Torn apart by horrific tragedy, Gray and Zoey still carry the emotional scars fourteen years later. We follow their fraught reconciliation, and the unknown evil stalking them. Their journey is filled with pain, and a heart-wrenching beauty. And, of course, sexual chemistry so scorching it still gets me in a hot sweat when I think about it. I hope to release Gray’s Promise in July 2017.
* Please don’t hesitate to ask any questions in the comments section. I’m around most of the day and am happy to answer whatever you toss my way. ~ Anni xx

* Chased by her criminal kingpin father, Katya Dalca runs to New Orleans and straight into the arms of Luke Hunter. Sucked into the carnal world of the French Quarter, she succumbs to Luke’s potent sexuality. He not only steals her breath, he steals her heart and the only leverage she has against her father. She is left with no choice except to pick up the pieces and rebuild her life alone.
* Undercover DEA agent Luke Hunter thought his newest assignment—recover a stolen flash drive to gain the trust of the Russian mob—was like any other. But his target brings him to his knees, and after one taste of her intoxicating beauty, he’s in too deep. Doing his job means walking away, leaving his heart behind with nothing but a promise to reunite. It’s a promise he can’t keep.
* When Katya’s past reaches out and her world unravels, her only hope is the one man she is most vulnerable to—Luke.

~ Excerpt ~

* We pulled into the underground parking at King Security and Luke parked the SUV in line with several other huge black Ford Expeditions. It appeared King Security had its own fleet.
* Unable to stop myself, I blurted, “You were with Anna when you were undercover with my father, weren’t you?”
* Luke pulled the keys from the ignition. In the deafening silence I didn’t think he was going to answer. Then he turned to me and bit out. “Yes!”
* Wow! I didn’t expect him to be so honest. I sat back and folded my arms, tight. Damn, his answer hurt me. “So you make a habit of lying to your women? Being with them while you’re pretending to be someone you’re not? Is that your thing?”
* “She wasn’t my woman,” Luke growled. “She was just a woman. She was there, I was there. It was never deep and it sure as hell wasn’t forever. Then it was over, and I made certain she was clear of the investigation. That was it.” He leaned towards me and said impatiently, “That tell you what you want to know?”
* “Not even close. You made love to her didn’t you?”
* “Hell no!” Luke snarled. “I fucked her. Like I have all the other women in my life. There’s only one woman I ever made love to Katya. And that was you.”
* I went rigid, stunned into silence. Luke turned to open his car door. “You didn’t make love to me, Michael did,” I whispered.

Welcome to Jeremy T. Ringfield w/ #NA #RomanticSuspense ’51 Love’ @JTRingfield @GoddessFish

Today we have author Jeremy T. Ringfield visiting. Welcome!

What would you like to tell readers about yourself?
mediakit_authorphoto_51love

* Jeremy lives in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He grew up in the south Atlanta area, where he eventually earned a football scholarship to Duke University. After experiencing enough life to form his own opinions, he enjoys sharing some with friends, reading, watching fantasy thriller and romance films, listening to music, and jogging when he is not writing. He writes new adult fiction.

Today character, Abram, will be talking about where ideas come from since he’s a writer as well.
* Hi reader, whoever you are.
* I don’t know why I am writing on this blog, but I wanted to take a break from walking outside all day so I stopped by the library to search the internet for a while. I guess this question was appealing, so I’ll share a few thoughts with you reader. I’m not sure where ideas come from, but I’m pretty sure it has a rap sheet. And a long one at that. Let me tell you, every time I come across these ideas, something is going down. Like last year for instance, I met this idea about writing a book. Right off the bat, it was strange as change sitting in the middle of a gas station parking lot. I don’t mean a spare coin or two here and there. I mean, a pile of change big enough to grab a handful. You know that someone had been there before, and its presence both begged my attention as well as shunned me to stop looking. On the one hand, I knew all too well what happens if I approached it. Nobody seemed to be looking so I figured it was safe to just nab a few without seeming so desperate. How wrong it would be to take from someone else’s stash had not occurred to me. I was too focused on what it is that I was saving all these random coins for. But never mind that. I took a few steps, got tunnel vision on the way the sunlight glistened off the metal, thought how I could make use of a few extra quarters, and suddenly that one person that always shows up out of nowhere was staring at my every move. I fake tripped on a flat piece of parking lot that I hoped looked uneven from the bystander’s view to save face. Did you just see that on the ground (wink wink)? Of course I wasn’t grabbing that five dollars and twenty-five cents worth looking pile of change.
* So I turned around and heard the voice before I connected the face with the origin of the oratory. “Did you want something to eat? I can buy you something from inside.” Almost bumping into her made my eyes close involuntarily as a thought erupted its way to the surface of my mind.
* “Listen you crazy buh-buh, ugh!” – Thud!
* And then my eyes opened.
* Her beauty was as genuinely pure as the gesture, and I could not have been more embarrassed at the same time for being so wrong about how real I played that stumble off. The homelessness of my attire didn’t even give my fake tripping act a chance to conceal my motivations for being so close to those coins. But if meeting her is like two wrongs not making a right, I’d be happy if this gets worse. Real worse. It turns out that the bad history of these ideas quickly lead to the most wondrous encounters, strange yes, but a beautiful beginning that I never saw coming. I wish I could say the same for my rap sheet. I replied without revealing anything that might give me away, “You sure? I mean, thank you. I’d be grateful if you don’t mind. ” I’d tell you more about what happened to her, reader, but the library is closing and the computers are about to shut down. See ya.

~ Blurb ~

* This story is about Abram, a hopeless romantic who enrolls into college and begins leaving love notes for the girl, Jec, who works at the front desk of his student apartments. About why they know each other when neither have even met. That’s right, she had seen his face only two weeks earlier, when he tossed his book bag in the middle of the street, holding up traffic like a mad homeless man. But what she doesn’t know is that just before he came to grab his keys to move in, the handsome albeit strange eyes and the person they belong to had just been released from the county jail.
* The jail cell talk without any cameras around to record make his last 51 minutes in the pen with a sketchy bunkmate a do or die conversation that may explain why he became homeless, why he wrote the love letters in the first place, and if both were random at all.

~ Excerpt ~

* As I go to hand him his key and re-washable cup, I remind him that “the lobby coffee is free”, and he glances at my name tag.
* I lazily connect my last sentence with the next, saying “Jec, for short”.
* He pauses, then shakes his head and asks “What if I want to call you something different?”
* I meet his eyes with a stare of my own, slow to respond, blink, and say “It will be okay Abram.” His face scrunches for a moment and his eyes look as though he is wondering straight through me. My glance falls deeper into the hole of an eye, and I see a marble in the night, the dark side of a full moon, which can be plucked right out of the sky to place a piece of the void heaven filled should I grab it and tuck it into my pocket.
* The ascension falling as the walls collapse to drop a cloud in his ear, a long fiber weaves my wonder, wherefore out there did he discover?
* And I conceived a thought of a single droplet, enough months from now, falling into a gravitationally absent drip time has lost, and him not.
* Before I can tell if he eased his facial expression, he walks off keys in hand without another word.
* “See, I told you. Killer” Bobby says flatly, and I just return to checking my emails.
