A peek into my long awaited release ‘Transcending Fire’ #ComingSoon #Dystopian #MCRomance

Hello! It’s been quite some time since I’ve had a release, and now I can say all that will be changing! My story Transcending Fire is planned for release on September 5 via Evernight Publishing. This erotic, futuristic, dystopian story based around different motorcycle gangs has had quite a journey. Perhaps one day I’ll share the two-plus-year jaunt this story went through to find a home. Luckily, it finally has. Even with all the trials it went through, I still love this story. It’s one of my favorites that I’ve written, and one that I didn’t get tired of during the editing process either. Yay!
A man dealing with an Earth in chaos. A woman from an alternate universe hoping to find her destiny. Two motorcycle gangs and a real bad ass who wants to ruin everything. What’s not to like?

~ Blurb ~

* Hunter Macario wants one thing—a place to belong. When given an opportunity to solidify his position in the motorcycle club, Devil’s Thunder, he takes it.
* Dragon’s Clan member, Safaia King, believes she’s found the man from her people’s legend and her dreams. She has one goal, even if he’s in a rival club—to make Hunter hers and keep him safe so he can fulfill their destiny.
* After Hunter makes a huge mistake, he’s sent to where Safaia lives—an alternate universe called The Den. In this new world, sex, battles, and secrets abound. Hunter must survive The Den to right some wrongs or else he could lose everything he’s ever gained, including his home and Safaia’s love.

~ A PG-13 peek into the story ~

* The flames’ mesmerizing dance, the macabre song created by the crackles and pops, and the smell of death kept Hunter frozen to his spot. He wanted to help, knew he should pick up a bucketful of water or a hose and join the fray, but his immobile legs wouldn’t budge no matter the commands his brain sent them.
* There must be something in the smoke making me high. Either I really can’t move, or I’m losing my fucking marbles.
* He tried again to step forward, but still couldn’t.
* Ah, shit. I’m dreaming. Must be it. At least I hope that’s it.
* As if in answer to his thoughts, the world around him seemed to slow, become more surreal than it already was. The noises minimized into silence, yet people still rushed around him as if he were invisible, their mouths moving without voices emanating from them.
* Straight ahead, Hunter caught glimpses of a woman appearing and disappearing amongst the club members running back and forth in front of her. The ebony-haired beauty didn’t move. She stood there with a smile curling her lips.
* A hot, lusty bolt of desire surged straight to his cock. Yet beneath the instantaneous sensation lay something deeper. Dreaming or not, Hunter couldn’t quite put his finger on what he felt, but words like “connection” and “destiny” wisped across his mind.
* Their gazes locked. The lady winked and disappeared.
* The compound, except for the fire, was as it should be—club house, church, garage, barracks, factory, and some ancillary buildings—but the sky wasn’t gray. The constant hum from all the robotics and other machinery functioning in the city wasn’t present. He’d grown so accustomed to the white noise, the sudden silence almost hurt.
* Hunter shook his head, ran his palm over his face. Nothing seemed right anymore. The sky. The sounds. Even the air he breathed was different—lighter … less polluted.
* No one came up to him to check on him. Nobody questioned why he wasn’t helping.
* They all acted like he didn’t exist.
* Maybe I really don’t exist here. Maybe I’m still back in one of those foster homes and my life in Vegas has only been a fanciful dream.
* Nah. I’ve gotta be dreaming. I gotta…
* “Wake up, Hunter.”
* A weight bore down on Hunter’s shoulder, gripping his muscles like a pneumatic clamp.
* Even in a hazy state of mind, his instincts took over. Years of martial arts training had him shrugging out of the hold and spinning into a neutral stance, ready to defend and attack if need be. No matter what home he’d ended up in, he had always requested lessons. The type of discipline never mattered. The fact that he was learning a skill and had something of his own no one could take away from him had been all that’d counted.
* “Hey, boy.” Screw, an aging man, whose favorite way of dressing his scrawny body happened to be denim overalls, a bandana around his head holding back his stringy gray hair, and nothing else, held up his hands. “You know I’m a lover not a fighter.” He chuckled. “Too old and creaky to scuffle anyhow.”
* Hunter blinked. Gone was the blue sky and fire. The mechanized hum had returned as had the obsidian night. He stared at the head mechanic and lowered his arms. Last thing he’d ever want to do was harm the man he viewed as a father figure. “Screw. What? What’s going on?”
* “You tell me. You’re the one out here in your birthday suit.”
* “Birthday suit?” He glanced down at himself. Sure enough, he stood naked in the middle of the compound. “What the hell?”

~ * ~ ABOUT THE BOOK ~ * ~

This story is the second book in my series called Helldorado Mongrels MC. The series follows different immortal shifter families, a couple of humans, and the quest for stolen gold. It takes place in southern Nevada. I’d been toying with the idea for this series for the past few years after catching an episode of Haunted Highway on Syfy regarding the Hellhounds of Eldorado Canyon.

In book two, Seduced by Him, two human brothers are at the end of their camping trip in the canyon where, as teenagers, they had a frightening experience in a gold mine when confronted with wolves. Jarrod Russell, one of the heroes of this story, is jealous his brother found love, and he wonders when he’ll find his other half. Which doesn’t take long since he runs into him in a store and then in a casino.

Jarrod and Tex, the sexy stranger (who is based off of Brock O’Hurn in case you were wondering 😉 ) he keeps running into, have a one night stand that’s turning into something more when Jarrod is kidnapped by Tex’s fellow Helldorado Mongrels MC members.

Want to know what happens when Jarrod finds out the guy he’s super attracted to is an immortal wolf shifter and if he escapes the Mongrels? Well, you’ll just have to read the book now, won’t you? *wink*

~ * ~ BLURB ~ * ~

Wolf shifter and member of the Helldorado Mongrels MC, Dante “Tex” Valentin is restless and dissatisfied. He goes on a ride in search of excitement, never expecting to encounter his mate—a human male, who disrupts his world.

Jarrod Russell is envious his brother, Cameron, found love. Wondering if fortune will ever smile on him the same way, he runs into a man who rocks his world. A man he believes could be the love of his life.

When Jarrod and Tex’s paths cross again, a passion-filled night connects them. Because of who they are, though, they’re in danger from the Mongrels. Will their relationship be over before they even have a chance to love?

The crowd’s excitement grated on Tex. Didn’t these people feel anything for a fallen comrade? Especially those related to the deceased? How could Preach be happy about a death of a family member?

Two short and quick horn blasts signaled everyone’s dismissal.

Tex turned to head back to the clubhouse and grab a beer. The fight hadn’t perked up his mood. He had to do something to shake his disquiet.

Maybe I’ll go hold up a store.

Thumbs hurried to his side. “You sure you fine? You don’t seem fine. You know if you fight you never die. You not related to anyone here.”

“That’s true,” Tex replied. He hadn’t been a miner’s dog or a feral one. He wasn’t a Shinan wolf. He was from a Nagul shifter line and had traveled to Nevada, back in the gold and silver rush days, to find his fortune. He’d just happened to have been in wrong place at wrong time and got cursed with the rest of the poor animal souls in the area. Yet like Thumbs reminded him, it was a good thing. No one here could murder him since only immortals of the same breed could kill each other. Like Kane and Preach both being from the Shinan bloodline.

Unless, of course, it was Tabu wolf against Shinan wolf. They could do each other in without blinking.

Maybe that was it. He missed having family nearby, actual family, not brothers made so because of some club. Perhaps it was time to escape the ’pound and return to Texas.

That didn’t feel right either, though. He hadn’t given his family much thought in over a century. Why would he care now?

Besides, like it or not, the moment that crazy renegade Native American, Queho, had uttered his spell, Tex had become a member of the El Dorado canyon pack, and even though the gang drove him nuts sometimes, he wouldn’t give them up for the world. The thought of losing connection to a group again, family or not, distressed him.

He shook his head. “I assure you, Thumbs, I’m good. Just something in the air bothering me.”

“Must have allergies. Come to garage. You help me with bikes. Air in there stinky. You’ll feel better.”

Tex followed Thumbs, thinking that tinkering on some engines couldn’t hurt and might even help get his mind off his uneasiness about what he’d been scenting on the breeze. Plus, it’d keep him out of trouble, like robbing a store.

The fragrance, reminding him of home cooked meals, brought up memories of happy times filled with laughter and love in the house with his mother and grandmother and other family members.

He’d always heard stories about wolf shifters discovering their mates due to scents they enjoy, but he didn’t believe he’d ever experience the phenomenon.

And the fact that he’d picked up on his mate?

It made his inner animal stir with sexual desire again.

Maybe his life was about to get interesting after all.

A look into…

~ Blurb ~

* Love is always a risk…but some decisions in this dangerous game come with consequences.
* Tam
* I’d do anything to keep my wife Julia happy…until her proposal for a sexy ménage tryst threatens everything I thought I knew about us, and our relationship.
* Julia
* I adore my husband Tam, but in this dangerous high-stakes game am I risking too much for the future of our marriage?
* Dominic
* Tragedy took my wife and left me in a shattered mess. I’ve been running from commitment ever since, until Tam and Jules reach out. There’s no denying the chemistry that flares between us, but has our night of kinky threesome sex pushed us just that little bit too far?
* Sex. Love. Marriage. A ménage gamble puts everything on the line.

~ Excerpt ~

* Darcy holds out a beckoning hand toward Tam. “I’m not taking your place, man, I promise. Tonight is about Jules and her needs, but it’s also about you. Come here.”
* “I…” Tam swallows, takes a tiny step toward us and stops.
* “Both of you, Thomas.” Hearing Darcy use Tam’s real name like that is a bit of a shock. Especially when he utters the words in that gruff, slightly husky voice that rolls right over my skin. I shiver and watch Tam carefully for his response. No one calls him Thomas anymore, except me when we’re in the midst of an argument. How will he react? Does he also feel this same strange connection to Darcy that I do?
* “Come on, man.” There’s a coaxing edge to Darcy’s tone now. “Let’s put the real world out of our heads, for the next few hours at least. This is about the three of us, no one else, and this here hotel room is now our world. Nothing else matters, and in here, anything goes, as long as it’s consensual.” He gestures again for Tam to join us. “Consensual by all three of us. It has to be that way. Or not at all.”
* The silence is thick, as if charged with unspoken excitement. The gentle hum of the heating unit pushes at the edges of my awareness and I almost laugh. I doubt the steady flow of warm air is necessary, given the emotional heat raising the temperature in the room.
* After a moment, my husband nods and then he’s suddenly there in front of us, grabbing me back out of Darcy’s now loosened embrace and leaning in for a kiss of his own.
* Whoa! Where did that come from, husband?
* Tam’s kiss is fierce, almost punishing, and the most passionate one he’s delivered in at least the past three or four years. It is so different to Darcy’s gentle quest. Tam’s lips, his tongue, his whole mouth devours mine, until my brain switches off and all I can do is feel, and lust, and need.
* I need this. I need him. I need them both.
